The Harlem Renaissance is an African-American movement which took place in the 1920s.

This cultural movement allowed to change the white people's opinion on the African-American community.  It took place in the famous neighbourhood of Harlem located in the borough of Manhattan, in New York.

This movement had a great worlwide impact, people changed their opinion on the African-American community. After, they realized how talented Afro-American artists were.

Musicians like Duke Ellington, painters such as Archibald Motley, poets and writers like Langston Hughes and so many more are artists who were part of this movement. Moreover, jazz music was at the center of this movement.
